Three cost buckets
Included: Included membership services: consultations, document reviews, and other allowances shown for your tier — no unpredictable hourly billing for those included services.
Additional: Additional professional services: work beyond tier allowances or outside the membership schedule is quoted separately at transparent member rates.
External: Court fees, government charges, bail, experts, and third-party costs are not covered by membership dues unless expressly included in your tier.
Membership is not insurance
First Law Shield is a professional legal services membership, not an indemnity or insurance product.
No guarantee of litigation outcome
We provide coordination, advice, and access to professionals; courts and facts determine results.
Court fees and external expenses
Government fees, court fees, bail amounts, expert fees, and third-party charges are separate from membership dues unless expressly included.
Services outside defined allowances
Work beyond tier allowances is quoted as additional professional services at transparent member rates.
Conflicts of interest
We may decline or reassign matters where conflict checks prevent representation.
Exclusions
Specific exclusions appear in your tier schedule and Terms of Membership.
Geographical limitations
Access to our expanding panel network is subject to coverage and membership terms.
Emergency-service limitations
Emergency coordination is subject to membership status, time, location, and resource availability — not a guarantee of immediate physical attendance in every case.
Lawyer–client relationship
Where panel lawyers are engaged, the professional relationship is governed by applicable bar rules and engagement terms.
Third-party professional fees
Specialists, accountants, or external counsel may charge separately where not included in allowances.
